The architecture of a system for marking handwritten student work, where a teacher approves every grade.

The skeleton of a platform that recognises handwriting in Polish student work, checks it against criteria and proposes a grade for the teacher to approve.
Problem
Marking essays takes teachers many hours, and fully automatic grading by AI is unacceptable.
Solution
A pipeline of stages with versioned contracts, a grade state machine with an append-only audit log, and an evaluation harness measuring recognition quality (CER/WER) and agreement with the teacher (Cohen's kappa).
